A little over a year ago, we told you about Under, Europe’s first underwater restaurant that was going to be built in Norway. Having only seen mock-ups and preliminary renderings, it was hard to imagine a giant concrete box half submerged in the water becoming a functional restaurant, but Under is now officially open for business. Next to nothing has changed since we first heard about the restaurant that would allow you to dine five-and-a-half meters below the surface of the sea, but seeing the space finished makes it even more magical than we could have imagined. After entering through the almost dystopian concrete exterior you’re presented with wooden clad walls throughout before you descend into the champagne bar and, eventually, the restaurant itself with its panoramic view of the marine life near the seabed. Under is already pretty well booked up until the end of the year, so we recommend getting on the waiting list now before you plan a trip.
