We like vinyl. The sound, the thrill of the hunt, the nostalgia (for a period we weren’t alive to enjoy the first time) and the sheer cool factor of it. We’re not going to pretend to understand the science of why a unipivot tonearm and an Ortofon moving magnet cartridge are better than the components in the record player we bough from Urban Outfitters, but we’re going to take the guys at U-Turn’s word for it because they have fancy machines, and we have seen our own records get destroyed from a crappy needle. We also completely agree with them that the turntable doesn’t need retro looks or USB connectivity because we’d be fine without both of those things. Strip away all of that garbage you don’t need, add high quality components and what we’re left with is a great, minimalistic turntable that only does one thing–plays records.
