Rod Stewart’s 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 S Is Going to Auction

Rod Stewart is a man that requires no introduction. That said, you might not know that he’s a crazy petrol head with a penchant for Lamborghinis. Described as the “company’s most well-known best customer” he’s owned an example of virtually every new Lambo, including all the versions of the Miura. One of those Miuras, this 1971 P400 S variant, is heading to auction later this year. Chassis number 4863 has seen a few different owners since Stewart originally took delivery of the right-hand-drive example, but it’s been painstakingly maintained and restored over the years. After the Lamborghini Polo Storico division restored it they informed the owner that it would become the authenticity basis for all future Miura restorations, so there’s no questioning the fact that this is one of the best-restored, most correct Miuras out there. The Lamborghini will be auctioned off during RM Sotheby’s London auction in Battersea Park during September. No word yet on a sale estimate, but seeing as how it cost almost $500k just to restore it, we’d imagine it will go for somewhere in the neighborhood of a couple million dollars.
