The International Six Days Trial is one of the oldest off road motorcycle events in the world. It’s been held for close to a century, and has since been renamed the International Six Days Enduro. Most commonly, it’s referred to as the “Olympics of Motorcycling.” Cool history, but what’s the point? In 1964, when the Iron Curtain was still up, Steve McQueen rode through Erfurt, East Germany on a 650 Triumph for the US Team. He got sideswiped and thrown from his bike until he smashed his face on a rock and ripped the skin off his knees. Barbour’s Steve McQueen Rexton is a distressed 8oz heavyweight wax jacket inspired by the original A7 that McQueen wore during that race. An American flag lining, original international label and ISDT team badge round out the details. Did the original A7 save McQueen’s life? Probably not. But this jacket still looks damn good, and it comes with a history lesson.
