If you think about it, fragrance/cologne/whatever you want to call it is really nothing more than perfume specially mixed with additional swagger, testosterone, wood, *insert manly marketing copy here*. As perfume, its sole purpose is to make other things smell good, which isn’t normally within the male wheelhouse. But that’s ok because 90% of the time a man doesn’t put on fragrance for himself, he puts it on for the same reason he dresses up on the weekends—to impress that special someone in his life. We have no problem smelling good, but it’s not something we’re going to go out of our to do. So next time that occasion comes up, take out the antique beer bottle / shotgun shell styled Varvatos Star USA Fragrance and apply the red ginger, green cardamom and vetiver scent liberally. Just don’t apply it too liberally because the 6 foot smell zone is still in effect.
