Laurent Tapie’s baby is slated to be one of the quickest cars on planet earth. An impassioned performance car enthusiast, a ride in an F1 car changed Tapie’s life forever. He built the Delage D12 out of that passion. This time, he ditches the hardtop D12 for two open air versions: a removable roof speedster and an F1-style version of the D12. Both are hybrid-powered V12 that combine a 7.6-liter V12 and an electric motor for a sum of 1,100 horsepower. Tapie is aiming for his D12 to break the Nürburgring record sometime in the latter half of 2023. The open-air versions will add $190k to the $2 million D12 price tag, but that should be a small price to pay to let the world hear you scream as you pilot this rocket sled.
