shirkers

With cable, Netflix, and internet options, finding the best thing to watch during your downtime is difficult. Instead of flipping through menus all weekend and settling on nothing, turn to What to Watch This Weekend, a series in which we give you our pick for the best new show or movie available.

Documentary fans who enjoy wild real-life stories should find time to watch Shirkers on Netflix this weekend. The documentary tells the tale of a long forgotten film. In 1992, Sandi Tan gathered her friends to shoot Singapore’s first indie flick, a road movie entitled “Shirkers.” With the help an American mentor, they did just that. Then, after filming wrapped, that overseas mentor vanished with the footage, only for it to resurface 20 years later in New Orleans. Shirkers tells the whole tale. Link

Timex-MK1-Chronograph-Black-IF2

[Shop]  The original Timex Military Watch was designed based on two things: ruggedness and simplicity. Ruggedness to stand up to the demands of a soldier, and simplicity so the time could be grasped with a passing glance. That doesn’t mean such a watch couldn’t receive some updates, however. This is the MK1 Chronograph, a reimagining of the original military watch. Now packed with a chronograph, this Timex still allows for easy readability, only now you can use it as a stopwatch as well. Built with a robust aluminum case that’s strong yet light and a double-layer black slip-through band, the Timex MK1 Chronograph is as comfortable and stylish as it is dependable.
