Postage Stamps Inspired by Classic Hip-Hop Albums

Design studio Dorothy has released a new 6-color lithograph print that showcases a series of oversized postage stamps, each inspired by an influential hip-hop album. The UK-based studio begins with 1982’s The Message by Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five and ends with Run The Jewel’s latest album. Throughout you’ll find minimalist stamp recreations some like The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest or MF Doom’s Operation Doomsday are relatively clear visual representations of the albums in question. Others reference songs or other easter eggs like Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique or Kendrick Lamar’s magnum opus To Pimp A Butterfly.

The entire print is adorned with a silver foil and is a beautiful recreation of the individual stamp homages. The Stamp Albums: Hip-Hop poster is just the latest in Dorothy’s series of stamp recreations and is perfect for the hip-hop conossieur.
