Mellow was started by two guys who met while surfing in Morocco. One had an idea for a way to completely revamp the riding experience. The other just happened to be an electric engineer for BMW in Munich. They combined forces, made some prototypes and Mellow was successfully Kickstarted earlier this year. Rather than completely scrapping the board you love in order to be able to hit speeds up to 25mph for 10 miles, the 5.5lb Mellow Drive system mounts on just about any deck (standard 6-hole, 180mm truck) to supercharge your favorite board. Mellow even gives you access to a USB port to charge your phone on the go after you’re done speeding from place to place.
