In just a few short months, we’ll all be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 spaceflight that resulted in Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landing the Eagle on the Moon. In celebration of the anniversary of that monumental accomplishment, everyone’s favorite brick maker LEGO worked with NASA to recreate the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander. This highly detailed replica of the Lunar Lander is built out of just over one thousand pieces (1,087 to be precise) and includes both the ascent and descent stage with gold-colored accents, astronaut minifigs (complete with golden helmets!), NASA decals, and tool compartments. Once assembled, the 7″ high, 8″ wide and 7″ deep LEGO Creator Expert NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander set rests on a depiction of the lunar surface complete with craters, footprints and a U.S. flag. The NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander LEGO Creator kit will be released on June 1st at LEGO stores and on their website.
