Banksy-Dumpster-Winter-Mural

Banksy is incapable of doing anything that doesn’t eventually become news. Whether it’s Banksy paintings that self-destruct of an entire post-apocalyptic Disneyland style theme park, Banksy is a man that knows how to make waves with his work. His latest piece–which is as of yet unnamed–is a familiar commentary on the state of things in the world while still being tongue-in-cheek and totally Banksy. On one side of a wall, you’ll see a child next to a sled happily lapping up snowflakes falling from the sky (the music he set it to in his Instagram post certainly helps seal the deal). Walk around the other side of the wall to see a literal painted dumpster fire spewing ash into the air. The piece was created in the South Wales town of Port Talbot; a town that made news earlier in 2018 when a World Health Organization report named it the most polluted community in the UK. The “most polluted” designation has since been revoked, but that didn’t stop the guerrilla street artist from making his own commentary on the situation in a way that only he could.
