Before Rodman was kicking cameramen and Kobe was flipping out at post-game press conferences, there was John McEnroe. Almost as famous for his ridiculous on-the-court antics as he was for his incredible tennis ability, McEnroe was – at one point in time – the name to beat. This is relevant because around that same time (when he was still good), he swore by the Nike Tennis Classic. Turns out that all these years later Nike is bringing it back as part of the “Vintage Clay” range. It might not be one of the most used shoes in tennis anymore because of its lack of performance technology, but with it’s canvas, leather and suede construction it’s still a damn good looking shoe for the rest of us.
