With Samsung’s “SOS Island: Survival of the Smartest” social media and survival competition in full swing, it’s the perfect time to dive right in see who’s worthy of your vote. To bring you up to speed, meet the 16 contestants from around the globe…

Together, they’ve been learning to survive on an uninhabited island with the help of survival expert Les Stroud, and armed with two amazing tools: the Samsung GALAXY S4 zoom and the GALAXY NX, the first interchangeable-lens camera with 3G/4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity. Their mission is to chronicle and share footage of their challenges. Lucky for them, the cameras are fully loaded with professional-quality photo and video features so viewers can feel like they’re part of the adventure.

Watch and engage with the contestants in real time via social media as they learn from Stroud how to start fires, find fresh water, and build shelters. In this competition, survival smarts go hand in hand with social media popularity, which is why being handy with their S4 zooms and GALAXY NX and interacting with the viewers is so important. And, you don’t only get to watch – you can play along, too, via interactive games that raise contestants’ scores, and even vie to win a variety of prizes.

Once the playing field is narrowed down to 8 finalists, however, Stroud will be heading out. Who do you think will make the cut? Don’t miss the live streaming action on, and read updates from the contestants in real time on the SOS Island Social feed. Then the voting power is in your hands to help choose the ultimate grand-prize winner who’ll walk away with $100,000 toward their very own private island paradise.

Pappy Van Winkle is the name in bourbon. Bottles have sent drinkers on wild goose chases and left others with empty bank accounts. While we can’t help you procure any of that elusive elixir, we can bring a little Pappy into your life in another way. Pappy Van Winkle Hot Sauce is aged in actual Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels. The distillery teamed with friends at Midland Ghost to make this flavorful hot sauce, which features the latter’s prized first generation Ghost Peppers. After the sauce was made, it was left to age in barrels that once held Pappy. That means you have a sauce that’s rich, oaky, and full of flavorful heat. Use it on meats, veggies, or, if you’re a special brand of crazy, just drink it straight from the bottle. It’s that good.
