One of the major complaints about the Samsung Galaxy Gear was the less-than-ideal battery life. Using it all day was fun, but come 3 o’clock, your lack of a watch could be annoying. The new Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo sport improved battery life – should be between 2-3 days on a charge – along with a new Tizen operating system (hence the lack of “Galaxy” in the product name). The watch also moves the camera to the front of the display so it’s not as ugly and obtrusive as it had been before (the Neo does not, however, have a camera at all and is a tad lighter). If you’re a Samsung fan and have been waiting for a better smartwatch option, the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo might fit that bill. Look for them in April.
