Since the smartwatch’s creation, it’s served as a glorified sidekick to your phone. The Marty Jannetty to your Shawn Michaels. Now, Timex is letting the watch step out on its own. The IronMan One GPS+ operates like a rogue agent, leaving the bulky smartphone behind when you want to go for a run or are just going about your day. It features an always-on Mirasol display that’s filled with apps you can use no matter where your phone is. The built-in GPS allows users to activate a “Find Me’ mode so they can see where they are in that marathon, it delivers all your running data, can store 4 GB of music, and it even allows for phone-free messaging (you’ll get a year of AT&T mobile service free). It’s available for pre-order now, and should ship in November.

It’s engineered from aircraft grade aluminum with an ergonomic grip and bolt action pen lever, and the included Fisher Space Pen ink can write in all types of conditions, from a light drizzle to a stint in space. Obviously, no tactical pen is complete without a carbide window punch, but the TriTac goes above and beyond, adding a 440C stainless steel, razor sharp blade.
