Since the smartwatch’s creation, it’s served as a glorified sidekick to your phone. The Marty Jannetty to your Shawn Michaels. Now, Timex is letting the watch step out on its own. The IronMan One GPS+ operates like a rogue agent, leaving the bulky smartphone behind when you want to go for a run or are just going about your day. It features an always-on Mirasol display that’s filled with apps you can use no matter where your phone is. The built-in GPS allows users to activate a “Find Me’ mode so they can see where they are in that marathon, it delivers all your running data, can store 4 GB of music, and it even allows for phone-free messaging (you’ll get a year of AT&T mobile service free). It’s available for pre-order now, and should ship in November.
