If Volkswagen won’t make the modern Beetle we all want, someone else needs to take up the task. Memminger is that someone else, as the German company just unveiled its Roadster 2.7, a vehicle the company says is what a “modern Beetle could look like.” It’s not like the Beetle is a foreign vehicle to Memminger, its workers have restored the iconic cars for years, but the Roadster 2.7 is almost entirely a new car, with only the lights and part of the front remaining from the VW. Power comes courtesy of a 2.7-liter engine that produces 210 horsepower and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. No word yet on price, but based on the size of the outfit and the work required, the Roadster 2.7 will most likely cost a pretty penny.
