There’s a lot of music that can get turned on in the office that will make you wish you had a headphones only policy. Throwing on anything from Beastie Boys will always be ok in our offices. So ever since they hinted there was an upcoming book about their rise from hardcore band to household name, we’ve been waited with baited breath to see what, exactly, would come out of some of the most creative minds on the planet. That day is finally here with the first details about Beastie Boys Book finally being released. Described as a “panoramic experience as unique as the band itself,” this almost 600 page tome tells the complete story of the Beastie Boys in the words of the band. You’ll get plenty of commentary from AD-ROCK and Mike D, along with contributions from Amy Poehler, Colson Whitehead, Spike Jonze, Wes Anderson, Luc Sante and a few more of your favorite people. Here’s more from the publisher: “With a style as distinctive and eclectic as a Beastie Boys album, Beastie Boys Book upends the typical music memoir. Alongside the band narrative you will find rare photos, original illustrations, a cookbook by chef Roy Choi, a graphic novel, a map of Beastie Boys’ New York, mixtape playlists, pieces by guest contributors, and many more surprises.” Beastie Boys Book will be released on October 30, 2018.
