We’ve got busy lives – jobs, happy hours, recovering from happy hours, etc. – and sometimes we can’t be bothered by cumbersome things like “words.” Normally a series of pictures wouldn’t make for much of an interesting book, but when the pictures at hand happen to be some of the greatest photos ever taken by Linda McCartney, well it’s safe to assume the story will be better told than anything most authors could put on paper. This collection of work, produced in close collaboration with Paul McCartney, crams not only the candid photographs she took of rock royalty, the kind that made bands like The Stones seem accessible to the average guy finger-picking in a dorm room, but also photos that captured her everyday life. Over 200,000 photos were sifted through to produce this journal and it’s worthy of a spot on any music fan’s coffee table.
