Dronestagram is back with the latest edition of their popular International Drone Photography Contest. For the fourth annual contest, the best drone photography winners were judged on creativity and photographic quality by a team of experts from National Geographic and Dronestagram. This time around Dronestagram expanded the categories to include Nature, People, Urban and Creativity, so there are a total of 12 different first, second or third place winners. While some would argue that taking a great picture of an ice formation, winding road, or urban cityscape from overhead with a drone is easy, each of these images shows applications of common photography techniques that we imagine are much more difficult to apply when you’re trying to keep a camera drone steady as it flies next to or over a building. The 2017 International Drone Photography Contest was produced in partnership with National Geographic, Europ Assistance, Kodak Pixpro, StudioSPORT, Lowepro, Zeinberg and Homido.
