Just like Raskolnikov debated whether or not to rob and kill in “Crime and Punishment,” we’d recommend you stop and think about drinking Crime and Punishment from Stone Brewing Co. next time you see them at the bar. The two new beers from the San Diego brewery are not for the timid. Crime is a version of Lucky Bastard – which is a blend of Arrogant Bastard, Oaked Arrogant Bastard and Double Bastard – that’s brewed with an absurd amount of peppers, and Punishment is the same except with just Double Bastard Ale as the base. We’d say the 9.6% ABV and 12% ABV respectively are fairly strong, but that really won’t matter when you’re chasing each sip with a gallon of milk.
