SolarGaps are solar panel window blinds that we’re completely shocked it took someone this long to develop. Don’t want to commit to expensive rooftop solar systems, or can’t install them because you rent? Why not just hang up some ingenious solar blinds to power your gadgets, charge a whole-home battery, go green or even sell energy back to the electric company? The idea is simple enough in concept: replace the blades on a standard set of blinds with solar panels that can be used to harness the energy of the sun. Executing that concept was no small task, but SolarGaps managed to deliver, at least in prototypes, with a solution that can reduce your electricity bill by up to 70%. The smart blinds automatically track the sun throughout the day and adjust to optimal angles for maximum energy generation, but they can also be controlled via app or smarthome so you’re not losing traditional blinds functionality. SolarGaps are currently raising money on Kickstarter with an expected delivery date

Ah, the waffle weave. Looks cool, feels great, reminds us of toasted Eggos. You’ve seen them before–probably in a fancy store or hotel–but Parachute’s brand new Waffle Towels are different. They’re spun using innovative Aerocotton Technology, which basically means they’ll be dry by the time your significant other finally gets out of the shower and realizes you stole their towel. Parachute’s Waffle Towels come in two sizes and two neutral colors. Plus, their 100% cotton construction means they start soft and only get softer with time. Even Kevin McCallister would approve.
