The Shoal Tent Is a Raft You Can Sleep In

The Shoal Tent Is a Raft You Can Sleep In

Started the better part of decade ago, SmithFly makes all kinds of gear and accessories tailored to helping fly fishermen create their perfect pack. All those years of gear led them to create the Shoal Tent, an inflatable tent/raft combination that even those of you that refuse to pick up a rod will love. The concept is one that seems simple enough at first–take a large rectangular raft and put a tent on top–and likely something we’d attempt to produce ourselves with enough liquid encouragement. Skip the danger factor and the inevitable YouTube humiliation when you fail and going with the expertly designed option from SmithFly. The 8′ x 8′ footprint raft uses three different air chambers to inflate to water readiness, and the tent topper will stand up to high winds without the use of pesky poles because it’s also totally inflatable. You should probably tether this incredibly comfortable and portable water bed to the shore so you don’t wake up in a different state, but that could be half the fun. The Shoal Tent can be purchased now with the first production batch slated for delivery in late December or early January.
