Chrome tanned leather is best known for baseball gloves with a warm earthy look and feel. You’re not going to get the kind of life out of vegetable tanned leather punching bags, medicine balls and footballs that you will from chrome tanned leather products.  The chrome tanning process leaves the leather softer and more porous, making it last longer when cared for and oiled properly. In fact Lineaus Athletic Co. medicine balls made 25 years ago are still in fine shape and used today.
