GS/TP Fried Eggs Watch

GS/TP Fried Eggs Watch

Independent watchmakers have been innovating on everything from dial designs, material and band construction and overall construction for as long as Cool Material has been reporting on them. Plenty of those watches have ended up on Kickstarter or other crowdfunding platforms, but that’s not the route GS/TP took for their Fried Eggs watch. For some background, “pocket watches commissioned by the British government for military issue during the 1930s and 40s were often engraved with the initials G.S./T.P., for General Service / Trade Pattern.” The modern iteration of that is the brand GS/TP, which is the horological side project of William Kroll from Tender Co., the brand responsible for everything from antique workwear and bags to shirts and the brass s-bend key hook. When it comes to the Fried Eggs watch, it takes style cues from the British Ordinance Survey compass and replaces it with railway tracks and off-center “thick egg yolk paint” for the unnumbered hours. Combine that with a custom-milled surgical steel case, Japanese Seiko movement and expanding bracelet, and it’s easy to see why this vintage-styled watch is the perfect addition to your collection.
