One of the coolest watches of the year can’t be worn on your wrist. In fact, it can’t be worn at all. CODE41’s Mecascape ‘Sublimation One’ is a portable mechanical clock of the highest order, and founder Claudio D’Amore’s imagined it for 12 years until it came to fruition this year. The clock showcases the skeletonized Grade 5 titanium case and visible and stunning 108mm movement. The goal was to display as much of the movement as possible, and the result achieves it by showing the interaction of cogs, wheels, and springs inside the 108x15mm rectangle. It’s perhaps the most fascinating timepiece to emerge in years, and it’s clearly a seriously amazing horological achievement.
