Along with a second full-length trailer for The Batman, viewers of DC’s Fandome virtual event were treated to a first look teaser trailer for the upcoming The Flash movie directed by Andy Machete. The Flash as a character has appeared in several DC movies already but the speedster’s solo film has hit several snags in development. But, with the brief clip shown at DC’s event, fans can expect a feature film soon.

The movie appears to borrow from the storyline in the critically-acclaimed Flashpoint comic written by Geoff Johns with art from Andy Kubert. The comic series expands on themes of time travel and alternate realities as the Flash travels to different timelines and interacts with different versions of superheroes like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern.

While it’s initially unclear which points the movie will borrow from the comic, we do see multiple versions of the Flash (as portrayed by Ezra Miller) as well as Michael Keaton reprising his role as Batman. No release date was mentioned in the teaser for The Flash movie, but previous reports suggest a November 4, 2022 cinematic release.
