Whether you love his work or hate it, Jeff Koons is one of the most successful and famous artists alive today. The American artist known for everything from vacuum cleaners in glass cases and blue gazing balls situated on other famous works to giant inflatable balloons and art cars recently had a profile piece commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. The short documentary film about Koons is narrated by Scarlett Johansson and features appearances by George Condo, Pharrell, Frank Gehry, Larry Gagosian, and Dakis Joannou, all discussing aspects of Koons’s work and its impact on the world. Jeff Koons: MOCA or Jeff Koons: As Told by Scarlett Johansson was written and directed by Oscar Boyson for MOCA Los Angeles for their 2017 gala honoring Koons. It’s an interesting look at the man who’s helped truly define what modern pop art is.
