The First Trailer for Terrence Malick’s New Movie, ‘Song to Song’

For over half a decade, writer/director Terrence Malick has been working on a rock ’n’ roll, double love triangle film that eventually ended up being called Song to Song. This is the first trailer. The film also weaves in actual footage from musical festivals and a combined list of acting and musical talent that’s nothing short of amazing: Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender, Rooney Mara, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Benicio Del Toro, Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, Iron & Wine and Arcade Fire. Song to Song premieres next month at SXSW, which is fitting because the entire film is set against the backdrop of the Austin music scene.
