That’s the idea behind Downsizing, a new film from Alexander Payne that stars Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, and Christoph Waltz. The solution, as presented in the movie, is a device that shrinks people. But this isn’t a Honey, I Shrunk the Kids reboot; Downsizing takes this idea seriously. What if there was a small world ready for you to live in? What if your income translated to incredible wealth in that small world? What if shrinking yourself meant leaving your current stresses behind?
