When You’re Strange: A Film About The Doors

Just because teenage death girls wanted his dick and not his words does not mean that Jim Morrison didn’t have a lot to say – or teenage death girls to not say it to.

When You’re Strange is a movie that uncovers historic and previously unseen footage of one of the most influential bands of all time. Much as we all enjoy rocking out with our plastic instrument of choice to The Doors, we probably wouldn’t consider sacrificing a Friday with our own rendition of Morrison for a night in the theater with a documentary – but we’d be wrong.

When You’re Strange has been featured at more film festivals (most with unpronounceable names) than you have digits and won the Audience Award at SXSW (South by Southwest if you’re not in the know). The movie will begin it’s “limited release” Friday, April 9 – find a theater near you here. Did we mention it’s narrated by Johnny Depp? Apparently that’s kind of a big deal.
