HBO just dropped the official trailer for The Wizard of Lies, an upcoming film starring Robert de Niro as Bernie Madoff and Michelle Pfeiffer as his wife, Ruth Madoff. The Barry Levinson-directed film focuses on the Madoff-perpetrated Ponzi scheme that resulted in a fleecing to the tune of $50 billion dollars and the effects it had on his family and victims. From bilking investors out of additional sums of money, to reprimanding his grandkids at the dinner table, the film tells the story of the unsympathetic financier. It doesn’t hurt that Robert de Niro manages to do a spot on Madoff impression in the looks department as well. The Wizard of Lies is set to premiere on HBO on May 20.
