Louis Vuitton Tambour Twenty

When a high-end luggage and accessories brand makes a wristwatch, you should wonder. But in the case of Louis Vuitton, its new Tambour Twenty is aesthetically and horologically impressive. The new watch follows long after the debut of the original Tambour two decades ago to much head scratching. The new Tambour Twenty solidifies the brand’s watchmaking skills in an anniversary piece that’s sure to draw collectors. The 41.5mm round case gets the brand’s name tastefully engraved on the exterior just like the original watch. It also gets floating lugs that add to the watch’s luxurious look. The deep brown sunbrushed dial is punctuated by yellow chrono and subdial hands, as well as by silver Arabic numerals and baton markers. The chrono movement is a La Fabrique du Temps LV 277 automatic movement based on the one in the Zenith El Primero and offers 50 hours of power reserve. The schmancy rotor is crafted in 22-karat gold. Only 200 will be made at a price of $17,800, but you also get a Louis Vuitton trunk with that price.
