The International Six Days Trial is one of the oldest off road motorcycle events in the world. It’s been held for close to a century, and has since been renamed the International Six Days Enduro. Most commonly, it’s referred to as the “Olympics of Motorcycling.” Cool history, but what’s the point? In 1964, when the Iron Curtain was still up, Steve McQueen rode through Erfurt, East Germany on a 650 Triumph for the US Team. He got sideswiped and thrown from his bike until he smashed his face on a rock and ripped the skin off his knees.
