Oliver-Barrett-Illustrations

Oliver Barrett is one of the greatest illustrators around today, and it’s a good bet that his name isn’t ringing any bells for you. Do you read Wired, or drink Pepsi, or shop Urban Outfitters or enjoy Marvel work? If you answered yes to any of those questions (that should just about cover everyone reading this), you’ve probably seen Barrett’s work. From band posters to portraits of Steve Jobs and Bill Murray to typography work for Cleveland State University, Barrett combines his unique illustration style (there are lots of lines) with cultural references that anyone would find interesting. It’s fun, it’s funky and it will look even better on your wall than it does on your computer screen.

Update: Oliver Barrett’s site was working when we originally published this, but it looks like he’s currently having some hosting issues.

G5-Cool-Material

Vaer has been one of our favorite watchmakers for as long as we can remember because they produce new, classic watches based on iconic designs. Case in point, the Vaer G5 Meridian watch you see here. This timepiece is a 1950s-inspired 20ATM automatic watch that’s USA-assembled, dual timezone, built with ocean-ready functionality, self-winding and the brand’s first true GMT (the latest version of their core dive watch design). What’s more, it pays homage to other watches that are incredibly more expensive or hard to come by whilst also adding new aspects that makes this Vaer G5 Meridian watch more desirable than the other options in our opinion.
