Shelby Legendary Cars Daytona “Secret Weapon” CSX2000

Carroll Shelby is a legend who will live on in his iconic automotive creations for both the track and the street. This one happens to harken back to the 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, of which only six were ever built, and it’s pretty much an exact replica of the original. The original cars fell victim to a shortage of Ford parts and the Blue Oval’s focus on the Ferrari-beating GT40. But the Daytona is a legend in its own right, having garnered the claim to fame of being the first American constructor to win a title at the FIA International Championship for GT Manufacturers in 1965. Shelby Legendary Cars built this near 200-mph steed using a 4.7-liter big-block aluminum V8 engine. Even the body sports the seams from the hand-formed and welded aluminum construction. To sit in it is to acknowledge the car’s greatness in the automotive pantheon, despite its spartan and painfully unergonomic digs. At least the body is polished to a chrome-like finish, and it’s a museum-worthy piece for a mere $495,000. Just like the original, only six will be made.
