One of the most memorable things about Back to the Future 2, besides those kick-ass Nikes, is Marty’s hoverboard. The year, supposedly, is 2015. That means that according to Robert Zemekis and pop culture, we should have levitation down pat within 5 years. Yeah. We’re not holding our breath. Until then, the old-fashioned wheeled version continues to evolve into very cool new forms. Take the skateboards by Rolls Rolls for instance. They incorporate a completely new deck design that brings the center of gravity drastically lower for better riding. The use of carbon fiber makes these boards not only some of the lightest, but also the strongest. Moreover, these ain’t your kick flippers rolling on wheels the size of lifesavers.
