It feels like every few months there’s a new company that’s bound and determined to make electric motorbikes something we’d actually want to drop serious coin on. While there have been a few worthy contenders, Novus might have just stolen the crown with their electric motorbike. Started by two comrades looking to combine the speed and beauty of their individual bikes into one single ride, Novus is going to completely change the way you think about what’s possible with electric power. For starters, the bike looks unlike anything you’ve seen before. It has a familiar shape, but the geometric lines, integrated lights, smartphone instrument panel and hollow mid-section make it totally unique. It has a maximum range of 60 miles, which adds up to a travel time over 3 hours in city traffic. The brushless hub motor has a peak power of up to 14 kW, which converts into a top speed of 60 mph and 200 Nm of torque. When it does die, the battery can charge up to 80% within an hour, so it won’t leave you stranded. We can’t wait to see this on the streets.
