For more than half a century, the Nissan’s Z models have been redefining what it means to be a sports car. With their long hoods, short rear decks, and wheels pushed as far to the corners as possible, the previous six generations of the Z have always been vehicles that were as pleasing on the eye as they were performance forward. Enter the Nissan Z Proto, the concept prototype that is likely to become the seventh generation Z car. This tribute to the previous model Z options and their fifty year history includes all the styling that made the previous versions so successful, along with a V6 twin-turbo engine, dual exhausts, big wheels and a modern cockpit with all the features and amenities you’ve come to expect from current generation cars. Outside of the robot fish grill that is way too square and needs some accents, the most startling feature of the car is that Nissan chose to keep the six-speed manual transmission, which is a decision we fully and whole-heartedly support.
