Land Rover BackPacker

Land Rover BackPacker

The future of land transportation is wide open. EVs, autonomous vehicles, remote-controlled vehicles, you name it. This unique travel-friendly four-wheeler is known as the Land Rover BackPacker, a concept created by German transportation designer Edwin Senger that “is inspired by the necessity of reduction in today’s consumerist world.” It’s minimalist but still quite slick with its open-wheel design, airless tires, and crazy tent canopy that allows its two occupants to experience the outdoors while driving, sitting, or sleeping. The seats slide and also fold flat for a truly versatile car. It even provides storage, refrigeration, cooking, and toilet modules that dock behind the seats. It has four-wheel drive and looks like it has electric propulsion based on the fact that there doesn’t seem to be room for a combustion engine and the lack of visible exhaust ports and driveshaft. Right now, it’s just a rendering and a small physical model, but it could point to a real vehicle someday.
