In a truly stunning example of art imitating life, Italy’s North East Custom bike shop has created a motorcycle that will never be ridden. Moreover, it can’t be since it’s purely an exercise in interior design. The JVLT 014 Motorbike take conventional motorcycle construction, deconstructs it, and then reinterprets it as motoring furniture for the living room (or den, office, or bedroom for that matter). The wood fairing and grips are modeled from furniture materials, as is the thin grey felt seat. Three round wooden spheres act as an abacus where the gauges would be, and the fuel tank gets replaced by a corked glass container that protrudes from the fairing. The lovely blue and cream paint scheme is straight from vintage moto coloring. Even the headlight transitions from the street to the reading space, rounding out the JVLT 014’s motionless purpose.
