The world loves a chopped, sporty, premium SUV as exemplified by the BMW X6, Audi SQ8, and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe. Genesis dug into their playbooks and created the GV80 Coupe Concept for the New York Auto Show this year. The result is the best-looking iteration in the illustrious bunch, and it capitalizes on what might just be the best design language in the industry with Genesis’ parallel lighting signature that extends from front to back. Clad in bright orange paint with black appointments, the GV80 Coupe Concept chops down the back of the GV80 sibling and adds a revised and more aggressive front fascia with larger intakes, a dark grille, and slimmed down headlight bars. The back end gets even more drama with a twin-bubble roof spoiler, a big ducktail spoiler, and full-width taillights from the arresting Genesis X concept vehicles. Inside, the concept gets four racing seats with orange plaid stitching, a new steering wheel, and a beefy internal brace that probably adds torsional rigidity. We love what we see, and it might just get made for America.
