General Motors Flying Cadillac eVOTL Concept

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) might be completely digital this year for obvious reasons, but that doesn’t mean the annual pageantry has come to a halt. This year, General Motors decided to unveiled their latest and greatest, the Flying Cadiallc eVOTL Concept you see here. This incredibly futuristic and fully-autonomous air taxi is reminiscent of today’s drones in terms of operation, but it stands to reason that it’s also a complete flight of fancy given the technology and experience required to get a vehicle like this off the ground. As Michael Simcoe, GM VP of Global Design said, “It is a concept designed for the moment when time is of (the) essence, and convenience is everything. You’ve been at the office and now you need to get to a meeting across town. The Vertile meets you on the roof and drops you at the Vertiport closest to your destination. It uses a 90- kwh (battery powering an) EV motor to power four rotors as well as air-to-air and air-to-ground communications. As a passenger it represents personal space and a panoramic view of the world passing beneath you. It is a glimpse of what autonomy and Cadillac luxury might look like in the not-too-distant future.” Honestly, we’re gonna be the first people in line if they can make this concept a reality.
