Because this is one of the three 1985 Modena GT Spyder Californias used in the filming of everyone’s favorite tale of playing hooky, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Headed to auction at Mecum in Monterey, California, at the end of the month, the ride is a replica Ferrari made by the Modena company. Under the hood you’ll find a 5.0-liter V-8, which is obviously not the V-12 packed in the Ferrari the car mimics, but it’s still plenty powerful. If interested, you should start practicing your Cameron Frye speech now so when friends come over you can point to the red rocket and say, “The 1961 Ferrari 250 GT. Less than 100 were made. My father spent three years restoring this car. It is his love. It is his passion.” Just please don’t wreck it.
