The over half-a-mil price tag of the track-only 911 GT3 R makes the McLaren 765LT Spider seem like a steal. But we’re guessing the driving experience will continue to pay owners in spades every time they track the new GT3 R, which is based on the current 911 992. The rear-engined, water-cooled flat-six makes a whopping 557 horses and is mated to a six-speed sequential manual gearbox. The GT3 R also gets a heavily modified suspension setup, new AP racing brakes, a revamped aluminum-steel composite body, and increased downforce capability for optimized handling. The price of entry is a mere $567,210. Orders are being accepted now. Eh, your kids don’t need to go to college.
