We love ourselves a good sports sedan, even if the rest of the world is buying crossovers. Case in point, the new 2022 Hyundai Elantra N. This little beast doesn’t just look the part with its front splitter, big intakes, red trim, and racy rear spoiler, but under the hood lies a capable 276 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic. It also gets an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, a sport-tuned suspension, fat 245mm rubber, and upsized brakes for hot track laps. The sporty interior comes by way of a unique steering wheel, sporty bucket seats, aluminum pedals, and steering wheel buttons for drive modes. It’s just one more sign the brand is serious about catering to driving enthusiasts. The Elantra N will show up in dealerships before the end of the year. We can’t wait.
