Hitting the auction block at the Auburn Fall 2018 RM Sotheby’s auction is this 1984 Mercedes-Benz 240 GD in all its sparse glory. The vintage SUV packs a 4-cylinder diesel, so you’re going to have to remember you want the green pump at the gas station. Get that right and you’ll enjoy speeds of up to 70 mph, which is a steady enough speed to keep your jerry cans and equipment strapped to the roof. The highlight for us is the olive green paint job, which makes this thing look like it spent time in the service.
