1965 Alfa Romeo 1600 GTA Autodelta

As wonderful as modern Alfas are to drive, our heartstrings get plucked by the oldies. This particular 1965 Alfa Romeo GTA is just the kind of steed we’re talking about. Not only is it one of the brand’s most handsome coupes, but it was also racing-focused and competed in numerous events. This car was modified by Autodelta, replacing the steel body with an aluminum one to reduce weight, making it ready to compete in the European Touring Car Championship. Its restoration was completed in 2003, and it stands as the ideal racing GTA-spec’d car today. The interior is about as minimalist as it gets with a single right-hand drive seat, floor-mounted manual gearshift, and zero carpeting. It weighs in at a mere 1,630 pounds and is powered by a 1.6-liter 217-horsepower engine for analog thrills galore. A car with this pedigree and race-build commands a high price, but for the collector and enthusiast, it should prove well worth it.
