There-Will-Be-Blood-on-Amazon-Prime-new

With cable, Netflix, and internet options, finding the best thing to watch during your downtime is difficult. Instead of flipping through menus all weekend and settling on nothing, turn to What to Watch This Weekend, a series in which we give you our pick for the best new show or movie available.

Since Netflix and Amazon like to save their original content for later in the month, the first weekend of April means a lot of movies you’ve probably already seen. But if a great movie is now free, and you have some spare time, why not put it on? Such is the case for Amazon Prime members this weekend, as There Will Be Blood hits Prime Video. If for some reason you haven’t seen the Daniel Day-Lewis-led film from Paul Thomas Anderson (a duo that’s pairing up again, by the way), you kinda need to. The film tells the story of Daniel Plainview (Day-Lewis), a miner with a bit of a temper and a flare for spectacular violence. Accompanied by his son, Plainview travels to a recently discovered oil reservoir to make his fortune. You should really carve out some time this weekend if you have Amazon Prime.

Unzip your coat and have some mulled wine on the house—you’ve arrived at your final gifting destination: The Holiday Gift Guide. It’s like your friendly neighborhood one-stop holiday shop, except instead of balsa wood ornaments, ours is packed with thoughtful gifts for everyone on your list. Future heirlooms, small-but-significant stocking stuffers, and gear for getting out there (or staying in)—are all right here. There’s no music playing in the background though, so you’ll just have to hum Bing Crosby while you click around instead.
