macbook-cutting-board

So we made a mistake. We originally posted this as a Macbook case, which it most definitely isn’t. The editor who did this was carried off from his desk by two large men in suits, taken out behind the barn, and sho… verbally reprimanded. Anyway, Das ApfelBrett is a pretty wood cutting board that’s made from attractive hardwood fashioned in the shape of, well, a macbook. We’re not sure how this concept came about, and who thought the Macbook shape would make a good cutting board (we’re guessing it involved too much to drink, a sharp knife, a couple limes, and a Macbook) but the truth is it’s a perfect shape. Rounded off edges keep liquid from pooling, and the treated wood stands up to any abuse you might throw at it. Say, for instance, chopping off the fingers of editors who don’t read product descriptions carefully, even if they’re in German.

Vaer has been one of our favorite watchmakers for as long as we can remember because they produce new, classic watches based on iconic designs. Case in point, the Vaer G5 Meridian watch you see here. This timepiece is a 1950s-inspired 20ATM automatic watch that’s USA-assembled, dual timezone, built with ocean-ready functionality, self-winding and the brand’s first true GMT (the latest version of their core dive watch design). What’s more, it pays homage to other watches that are incredibly more expensive or hard to come by whilst also adding new aspects that makes this Vaer G5 Meridian watch more desirable than the other options in our opinion.
