windproof-waterproof-survival-matches

There’s a long list of things we were under the impression we would never be privy to: Justin Bieber hit songs, double rainbows, Jersey Shore, and matches capable of giving mother nature the middle finger. These windproof, waterproof survival matches from Garret Wade are waterproof and windproof and were specially designed for the British Army to NATO specs. Because they’re waterproof these probably aren’t the best matches to leave lying around the bathroom, but they fill some necessary gaps: smoking during monsoons, fireworks in the rain, and surviving an unfriendly wilderness. For roughly $0.20 each, it beats the hell out of rubbing sticks together to make fire and you’ll look a whole lot cooler if anyone else is around.

G5-Cool-Material

Vaer has been one of our favorite watchmakers for as long as we can remember because they produce new, classic watches based on iconic designs. Case in point, the Vaer G5 Meridian watch you see here. This timepiece is a 1950s-inspired 20ATM automatic watch that’s USA-assembled, dual timezone, built with ocean-ready functionality, self-winding and the brand’s first true GMT (the latest version of their core dive watch design). What’s more, it pays homage to other watches that are incredibly more expensive or hard to come by whilst also adding new aspects that makes this Vaer G5 Meridian watch more desirable than the other options in our opinion.
